Nomex® Polyester Nomex®

Nomex® Polyester Nomex® is a triple layered laminate with polyester film sandwiched in between two layers of DuPont™ Nomex® aramid – 2mil thickness paper bonded with a high temperature adhesive system. The product is designed not to delaminate or blister at elevated temperatures. This semi rigid laminate exhibits a high dielectric strength, as well as good initial tear and tensile strengths. The high abrasion properties allow the product to be inserted easily in the slot portionsof a stator without damaging the insulation properties.

Application

These laminates find a popular use in the manufacture and repair of motors and generators of various ratings and temperature class. Popularly used as slot liners in stators, as wedges and phase insulationinmotors and generators, as well as large special F class motors.

Availability

These laminates are available in standard widths of 900mm in continuous rolls in various thickness and constructions. Slitted Tapes to specific sizes are also available upon request to facilitate auto slotinsertion process in small stators. Laminates with 1.5mil base DuPont™Nomex® paper (with a prominent orange lining) are alsoavailable on request.

Shelf Life

Nomex® Polyester Nomex® exhibits a shelf life of 12 months fromdate of manufacture when stored at 25°C temperature and 50% relative humidity.
